Welcome to Metalchemy, the only web site that features the work of Artist Derek Griggs.  Derek Specialises in one off unique pieces of metalwork for furniture, sculpture and commission pieces.  Derek is renowned for his intricate and detailed work, he believes that it takes weeks of study to find all of the hidden features of his work.  He has the rare ability to transform base scraps of material into glorious works of art.  His sense of fun and humour are forged throughout all of his work.

As well as metal work, Derek is skilled in many other materials; leather, wood, synthetics, enamels, etc.  Derek has completed many pieces of work in the following areas

METALWORK, SCULPTURE AND ART - Derek uses a variety of materials from scrap to iron to bronze.  Much of Derek's work is suitable for both indoors and outdoors, as his work typically is weathered and finished to protect it indefinitely.

UNIQUE PIECES OR ART - Every piece that Derek produces is unique and it will always be that way. Derek believes that Every item should be completely unique, "I will never do the same piece twice, it wouldn't be fair otherwise".  Each piece is signed and numbered in multiple locations throughout each piece, these locations are recorded by Derek to allow unique identification.
